How do I work?

Our first meeting will mainly involve getting to know each other and finding out whether we are a good fit for future collaboration. It is rather informative – I will be curious about what brings you to psychotherapy and what your expectations are. Based on this meeting, we will see whether or how we will continue.


Every client and the story he/she brings is unique. Therefore, our meetings will always be tailored to you and your life circumstances and we will go at your tempo. Step by step we will dive deeper in the topics you bring and will look at the broader context of what you are going through. We might also enter your past while doing so but we will never remain there longer than necessary.


It is recommended to attend a session 1x/week, at least at the beginning of our collaboration. It supports the flow of our work and thus makes it more effective. Nonetheless, we will always set the frequency of our sessions based on your needs and availability.


During our work we can also use to our advantage various symbolically rich sources including dreams, active imagination, picture cards or drawings. This is because pictures and symbols can sometimes express more than words could ever do. They allow us to combine ostensible opposites and by that show us the situation in a new light. As such, they help us to find solutions that would not cross our minds otherwise.


As for myself I can promise an empathetic approach and respect towards your own journey.


The outcome of our collaboration might be a better understanding of yourself and greater compassion towards yourself which positively affects relationships with others and our overall well being. 

Who am I?

Mgr. Petra Willantová, psychologist and psychotherapist

I studied psychology at Palacky University in Olomouc, one year took place in Utrecht, The Netherlands. My next steps led to a crisis centre, where I worked for 4 years. I met a wide range of people with various stories there. Afterwards, I had the opportunity to work with clients in the broader context of their families, in a family psychotherapy centre.


I have a private practice in Prague and České Budějovice these days.


My main focus is working with adults and adolescents


I am a member of Czech association of analytical psychology (ČSAP), where my training in psychotherapy takes place.   


I speak fluent English and offer my services to English speaking clients.


To me psychotherapy is mainly about learning how to be more sensitive towards oneself and therefore towards others. Through this, we can improve our relationships as well as prevent crises and other obstacles. It gives us the ability to choose consciously.

To be paid cash, unless agreed on otherwise (after longer period of collaboration). 

Sessions may be canceled or rescheduled at least a day in advance till 2pm. In any other case the session must be paid in full.
